The feline tribe are merciless hunters and it is believed that the last fairy in England was caught by a house cat some time in the 1870s. In Scotland, of course, where there are fewer cats, the wee folk survived well into the 20th century.

Joy Geisha Hummingbird Fairy Fantasy Faerie Art
Joy Geisha Hummingbird Fairy Fantasy Faerie Art
"Joy Geisha Fairy" by Joelle Rene'
Beautiful Joy Geisha Faerie is attended by her entourage of hummingbirds as a constant reminder to connect with that which brings you joy. Her Wing jewelry is the symbol of Song and our ability to emanate joyful noise into the world.
Joy Faerie is the first painting in my ‘Return to Joy’ series and beckons us to remember our own time of innocence and wonder and to follow our hearts. The simple joys of our childhood are only a thought away. Let us pursue the path less taken and journey beyond this dream world of mortal man into the realm of faerie dust and magic charms where wishes really do come true.
